Joanne Edwards -> April 2011 - Easter Holidays and Royal Weddings

The Easter holidays came along really quickly and lasted ages this month with the children spending only 8 days out of the month at school.

We have had a very busy month making the most of the holidays and the fine weather.

We have had some fabulous days out at Blue Anchor Beach and Fyne Court Nature Walk. We have also been practicing riding bikes in the park.

Over the holidays we planted our sweet pea shoots and our sunflower and pumpkin seeds.

We celebrated Easter in style with a traditional Easter Egg hunt in the park with a group of other childminders and their minded children, the sun was shining so we had some very soggy chocolate eggs by the end of the afternoon. We also made some Easter baskets by weaving paper and we had a fantastic Easter bonnet parade in the playroom.

The Royal wedding didn’t go uncelebrated either when we all became prince or princesses for the day complete with hand made crowns and patriotically decorated cupcakes for our royal garden party.

We continued looking at Spring as our focus topic this month and we celebrated our pets. We visited the garden centres pets corner and the local Pets at Home store. We made our own goldfish tanks and we made a collage of all the pets we could think of. Number 4 was our focus this month and the colours blue and purple.

NEXT MONTH LOTS OF PLANTING !
