All that build up and the holiday passed so quickly, but what a lovely time we all had. This year the weather helped us to feel very very Christmassy, snow always sets a lovely scene.
Our focus colours this month were gold and silver and we used them in spades we had glittery play dough and we made clay candle sticks which we painted gold to make them look very precious.
Our focus number this month was 12 and we celebrated and sang about the 12 days of Christmas. This month has been full of Christmas songs and carols, lots of jiggling bells and musical instruments.
We started the month filling our advent calendars with chocolates and we kept feeding our Christmas cakes until they were ready to decorate and take home.
The snowy weather gave us lots of opportunities to explore the world around us we took every opportunity to go out side and play in the snow, we made snowmen and snow angels in the garden and went sledging in the fields. When we needed to thaw out we came home and had big mugs of hot chocolate. In our table tray this month we have been playing with pretend snow (soap flakes), real snow and ice.
Everyone took home lots of Christmas craft things this month, we made Christmas cards, paper chains, foot print reindeers and Christmas calendar wreaths. But by far everyone’s favourite was when we made reindeer food and mince pies.
The Christmas party for the older children was a great success and everyone enjoyed watching Santa Claus 3. The party for the younger children had to be cancelled due to bad weather but Father Christmas left all the presents he had for the children at my house and I made sure everyone got there present after the Christmas break.
